Our Level 3 Award in Canine First Aid (iPET Network) is ideal for pet owners, dog walkers, groomers or anyone who works with dogs and wants to be prepared for urgent situations. You’ll learn both theory and hands-on practice in vital first aid techniques.
What You'll Learn
The objectives and principles of canine first aid, including who is qualified to administer aid.
How to manage a dog’s behaviour in an emergency.
Primary survey techniques (DR ABC), how to take temperature, pulse, respiration and how to recognise and manage shock.
How to put a dog in a recovery position.
Ways to treat wounds and fractures.
How to deal with choking, stings, poisoning, hyperthermia, hypothermia, water inhalation, convulsions, gastric torsion (bloat), burns and electrocution.
How to conduct CPR on a mannequin.
What a canine emergency first aid kit should include and how to communicate effectively in emergencies.

Course Details
• Price: £200 for a solo learner (discounted to £185 if bought alongside another course)
£100 each for a group of 3-5 people
£75 each for a group of 6-10 people
• Location: We can also travel to other premises to host these courses - additional charges based on distance will apply
• Guided Learning Hours (GLH): 6 hours of tutor-led teaching.
• Total Qualification Time (TQT): 9 hours (includes independent study).
• Assessment: Portfolio or workbook plus practical observation. All assessment criteria must
be met.
